About Me

Hi, my name is Natalie and I’m a biomedical sciences undergraduate at Newcastle University. I’m a geek at heart and I created SciShot as a way for me to share my love of science with the world.

I find that science in the media is frequently filled with unnecessary jargon or hyped up with big and often unfounded claims. This makes it difficult for non-experts to determine what’s fact and what’s fiction. My aim is to write about the bits of science that excite me and hopefully make them more accessible to the general public.

Science is a subject that should inspire generations, as Richard Dawkins said “Science is the poetry of reality.” yet many people are under the impression that science is boring or redundant. I want to change that.

You can read my personal ‘Story in Science‘ here or follow me on Twitter for more insights into my take on the world of science.
